“Yearn” means desire. I chose the name Atelier de Yearn because my entire purpose is to explore the world of clothing. There are so many corners to fashion, so many endless realms to dive into. Atelier de Yearn represents that journey. It’s me saying I’m constantly in my atelier, my workshop - experimenting with different niches, trying new hardware, washes, silhouettes, and prints. I’m always building, always exploring.
The “desire” part is deeper. I want people to desire my clothing, but I also want them to chase their own desires the way I chase mine. I work day and night for my desires. even when i feel tired or out of it, That’s the mentality I want my audience to carry with them every day - whether they like what I create or not.
This brand is a movement. It’s about desire. It’s about pushing through no matter what. Just like I push through long nights of design problems, website issues, manufacturing mistakes, lost money, messed-up samples, missed sleep, and even moments of depression when I want to relax but my desires keep me locked in. I can’t enjoy anything until my desires are fulfilled.
I love making clothing - truly. But I don’t love going through the problems that come with creating it. Designing and sculpting a piece is fun; spending money, fixing errors, and perfecting the visual world of my brand is not. Yet I do it anyway, because that’s what desire looks like.
That’s the mentality I want my followers, my supporters, and even my haters to adopt: work for your dreams and desires no matter what anyone says. I don’t care if a random hater thinks my pieces are weird or trash - I don’t make them for the ones who don’t get it. I make them for the ones who feel something when they see my work.
To wear my garments is to understand what “desire” truly means. It’s a mentality. It’s beautiful. It’s an atelier of desires - a workshop of ambition, obsession, and relentless creation.
